Description

  • This purchase will consist of one half-gallon of Primer, one gallon of Resin, one half-gallon clear coat, and one 12 lb. bag of Aggregate. This makes up a “Kit”. The only thing you will need to add to the “Kit” is one gallon of any color water based solid stain (not included). The coverage for a Kit will range from 120 to 200 sq. ft. This includes the primer coat, two product coats and clear coat*. The amount of coverage depends on the condition of the surface to be treated. This product can be applied to wood or concrete surfaces (as long as there is no vehicle traffic). Coverage on concrete pool decks or patios averages close to 200 sq. ft. Coverage on wood decks averages from 150 to 180 sq. ft. Coverage on boat docks averages from 80 to 150 sq. ft.
  • *Acryfin Clear UV Coating is a top coat sealer designed to add an additional hardener, help repel dirt and stains, and protect from UV rays. It is a clear liquid that is to be applied with a 3/16 to 1/4 inch nap roller. A very thin layer is desired. One quart will cover 150 square feet. Apply this last, after the final coat of Acryfin Coating has dried enough to walk on.
  • Example: if you have a deck that is 300 sq. ft. and the wood is in fair condition you will get approximately 150 sq. ft. of coverage and therefore you will need to order 2 “Kits”. Then you will want to purchase 2 gallons of Solid Stain (not included) as mentioned above.

Instructions

The following are the mixing and installation instructions:

Wood Application Instructions

1) Apply primer to clean, dry wood with roller and let set (usually 10-15 minutes).

2) In a 5 gallon bucket add 1 gallon of WATER BASED SOLID COLOR EXTERIOR STAIN with 1 gallon of Acryfin resin, then mix with a highspeed paddle mixer for 30 seconds.

3) Add bag of aggregate at a moderately slow rate while continuing to mix.  After all aggregate is added continue mixing for approximately 1-2 minutes. Make sure that all white particles are mixed in including the sides of the bucket. The mix should be nice, thin and easy to apply.

4) When ready to apply, use 3/4 in. nap roller cover and if cutting in is required use brushes. (Roller nap needed varies depending on condition of wood). Make sure all cracks and voids are filled with roller or brush on first coat.

5) After first coat is dry to touch, apply second coat using same method. (Coverage should be greater on the second coat).

6) Lastly, apply one thin layer of Clear UV Coating with 3/8 in. nap roller.

The curing time should be 2-3 days. Keep furniture, pets, plants, etc off until completely cured.

Concrete Application

1) Apply primer to clean, dry concrete area. Let set until dry to the touch.

2) In a clean 5 gallon bucket add 2 gallons of CONCRETE WATER BASED SOLID STAIN with 1 gallon of Acryfin resin and mix with highspeed paddle mixer for 30 seconds.

3) Add bag of aggregate at a moderately slow rate while continuing to mix.  After all aggregate is added continue mixing for approximately 1-2 minutes. Make sure that all white particles are mixed in including the sides of the bucket. The mix should be nice, thin and easy to apply.

4) When ready to apply use 1/2 in. nap roller.

 5) After first coat is dry to touch, apply second coat using same method. (Coverage should be greater on the second coat).

6) Lastly, apply one thin layer of Clear UV Coating with 3/8 in. nap roller.

The curing time should be 2-3 days. Keep furniture, pets, plants, etc. off until fully cured.

Optimal temps for applying to concrete or wood are 50-80 degrees Fahrenheit.
